![]() What a finish between Invasor & the Sun King
1) How did the Sun King lose that photo? 2) How did Tom Durkin correctly call it when on most days he has trouble calling races where horses win by almost a 1/4 of a length? What a race! |

![]() I was fortunate enough to be at the Spa that day - and it was indeed a great race. Agree, not sure how INVASOR hung on to win..... It was too tight to call....
All of the hype leading up to the race was on Flower Alley who never fired and never fired again in any races.... As i recall all you had to do was play the best last race beyer in the Whitney and the Test (Jerkens 10-1 shot) and you would have had both winners... PSH

![]() Swap Fliparoo won the Test and she was not 10/1. Actually 5/1.
I bet Win McCool that day and he stumbled at the gate, never having a chance. In the Whitney, I bet Wanderin Boy and I remember cursing after the race that I bet the wrong Zito horse. I really thought Sun King won the race from where I was sitting that day. |

![]() We were right at the wire for that race and it was definitely one of the most thrilling of the year. I was bouncing up and down...thought for sure Sun King was going to do it! Sun King is a very exciting horse when he is gunning for the wire, I love the way he moves.
After the race, I got Bejarano & Jara to sign my program, I can't wait to frame it with the photo. |

![]() At the 1/16th pole I thought Sun King was going to win by a length. Even after the race I still thought he got the outside bob. I was furious because so many times it happens I bet a horse whose trainer has another one entered (uncoupled) and the wrong one wins.
