Default Tampa Tuesday/Pick 4

very close a few times so far at the meet....I feel a big one right around the corner

Race 6/MD25000/6.5 Furlongs

#11 MO'S POCOLINO (10-1ML) 2nd off...should get great stalking trip from post.

#10 WILD INQUIRY (12-1ML) Scace firster...18% first out...eye tote board. WINS AT 19-1

#1 SPANISH SPRINGS (8-1ML) big drop may do the trick

#6 CRAFTMANSHIP (6-1ML) Zaidie tabs Monterrey for mount. KZ..37% first time starters...50% winners first time starting MCL...

#2 ROWDY'S WARRIOR (5-2ML) Woodbine shipper first out for new trainer batting 27% with that stat...Scavs fav jock Taylor Hole sees fit...

Race 7/CLM16000/1 MILE TURF

#8 ELUDED (9-2) Jonathan Sheppard...turf race....enough said.

#7 NATIONAL ANTHEM (5-2ML) Hard not to root for steady 11yo campaigner WINS @ 2-1

#9 FALSE PROMISES (7-2ML) Draw line through last off the turf effort...fits with these.

#4 DEPUTY ON CALL (10-1ML) "choke" Ferrer aint bending me over..im using.

Race 8/CLM6250/ 1 1/8

#1 MONTFORD RIDGE (3-1ML) "Move Early" Mike rides for KZ

#9 MARIGOT RED (8-1ML) Bet him last out when finished 3rd at 11-1. 2nd off and should be much fitter..would love to get ML odds on this one.

#5 FORMAL ETIQUETTE (5-2ML) Bennett has gelding in top form..

Race 9/ALWN1X/1 MILE TURF

#2 LAST VALENTINE (5-2ML) Sheppard 21% off this layoff...better jock would have me more confident.

#4 KAFLEEN (6-1ML) Ness an unreal 41% first claim...spotted aggresively.

#5 LA CORUNA (7-2ML) Toss last...other races fit well...hard to improve off Tagg, but doesnt need to be much to tackle these.

Smaller ticket $48

1,2,6,11/
8,9/
1,5,9/
2,4

All the best,

GPK

My P4 ticket:

6th - 1,6,10,11 With the scratch of the 2 - Rowdy's a Warrior, I am going to include the 6-Craftmanship on the ticket. I'm still not a big fan, but Ziadie may be able to overcome the sire stats and slowish works.

7th - 1,7 Not sure what happened to the 1-Pinch the Clown in his last, but willing to give him one last shot, hopefully on or near the front end. Not sold on Shepperd's 8-Eluded, if he couldn't get a N2L field in his last, I don't think he'll handle this bunch, but he will eat some Benjamins. Also banking that the 9-False Promises won't revert to his old form off the huge layoff.

8th -1,5,6,9 Kev got me to take another look at the 9 and I added the 8yr old to the ticket this morning. The 5 and 6 are both going well and can't be left out. The 1-Montford Ridge will be very tough as long as Mikey Allen doesn't try to force his riding style on this confirmed closer.

9th - 5,7 The 7-Rain Check has won two in a row at a lesser level. Love hot horses moving up. Will LOVE the move to the blades. Dam was 3 for 9 lifetime on the grass and her progeny have won 6 of 40(15%) starts on the grass.

1,6,10,11 $39.00
1,7 $6.00
1,5,6,9
5,7 Alive for 3 of 4 payouts on both

$64 and pray they stay on the grass.

GL

The more I look at Race 6 the more I love the 1, Spanish Springs. If none of the firsters are monsters, this gelding should be tough.

He exits a tough MSW tilt (quickly becoming a key race) on Dec 23, where my notes have the winner, Curious Tiger, under tight wraps and could've won by much more (watch out for his next one). The second placed finisher from that Dec 23 race, OK Deputy, won the final race on Saturday, a MSW going 7f, by 4 lengths. The third place finisher from Dec23, Bushy's Yield was "roughed at the start" of the Saturday night cap, was last after a half mile in a 12 horse field and still finished a respectable 4th.

Spanish Springs, finished and even 5th in the aforementioned Dec 23 race, is dropping to 25k, adding blinkers (Jessie Garcia will hustle from the rail), and has an okay maintenance work last friday. All systems go....

I guess one of the firsters was a monster. Nice 18-1 winner for T3B(?, got him second on his tabs, hopefully on his ticket) and myself to start off the pick 4. Note: The dam of Wild Inquiry is now 2 for 2 with first time starters. The second first out winner of the meet for Scace/Cotto.

1 horse was squeezed a bit in traffic entering the turn after being bet down from 8-1 M/L to 2-1 chalk.

Let's keep it going.

Only thing I see is Pecoraro is 21% 2nd off....but the 0 for 11 thus far for the meet turned me away...

Oh well...time for a winner in the 9th so I can hit 3 of 4 again..
