Default the old man still going strong

Say what you want about his ability to race off his home turf. I don't care. In this day and age, it's nice to have a familiar hero to cheer on.

I gotta root for Go Between in the turf.

Like to see Mig picking up the mount on Bordanoro, but I have to stick with my boy Proud Tower Too

Default I have to agree

I have always liked Go Between. Seems to always put in a honest effort.

EB...been a fan of Go Between since Prado gave him that rail skimming ride in the Palm Beach last year. The fact he came back and won the VA Derby at Colonial later in the summer (sans Showing UP) makes me even more of a fan.

well, much as we don't like it, we aren't the only game in town--or in this case, the world.

i don't think TE has actually left yet--but he has to spend time in quarantine before flying out....so we won't be seeing him on the track here-or in training i'd wager, before he goes to dubai.

Is Sabre Baby really running in this race? Pretty ambitious spot. I bet you Go Between gets it done. I dont see Lava Man winning but then again I didnt like him in the Sunshine Millions last year and he proved me wrong.

Proud Tower Too looks like lone speed, almost too good to be true. These are the kinds of race closers win because horses you didnt expect to be sent get sent.

Greaaaat day of racing, I for one can not wait until the next 4 days are over with and I am sitting reading my form on Sat morning with a hot cup of coffee and 3 glazed donuts.

Dang it Gander--I seem to always disagree with you when it comes to Proud Tower Too. I just dont think the horse gets it done here. I agree he is the main speed, but I think he gets caught. I see another 2nd place finish for this horse.

Lava Man - great to see him back. It would be great if he could come close to what he did last year. I could care less where is races. I just want to see him run.

I didnt say I liked Proud Tower Too to win Euro. I said he looked like the lone speed, "almost too good to be true", especially considering he had his tightener off the long layoff and should be set for his A race.
I wont be playing him to win, thats for sure. His odds will be in the 9/5 range and that doesnt cut it for me.

Yeah, I mis-read your original post. Sorry about that. I can't play him at 9/5 either. Now lets say he floats up to 3-1 or higher then I may have to wager on him.

I have some strong opinions on this race which I will share as the races draw closer. I wont be playing Proud Tower Too on top here. Though I think he runs good I think somebody else will have his number.

Hes a very hard horse for me to ever play after I did not catch him at 20/1 in the 2005 Malibu.

That is why you should even have a bigger problem accepting 2/1 ish type odds on him Kevin. I dont think you caught him that day either, but I could be wrong. I know you liked him and that was the day everybody knew there was a terrific bias for early speed.

You working on Saturday? I hope not.

I assume OTB for you. Over/Under on the amount of cell phone calls between yourself and I? I'll set it at 14.

Lucky you. What a great day of racing. Easily in my top 5 all year. I am a sucker for themed formats in horse racing and love the back and forth between tracks.

Me too... I'm excited. I haven't been to Gulfstream in a LONG time.
