Default Invasor vs Discreet Cat

Well the rematch seems to be a possibility for the World Cup in Dubai. The story is in bloodhorse. The link is below. Also, I can't wait to see Invasor run in the Donn. I wonder how many people will duck.

If Invasor looks awesome in the Donn I bet Discreet Cat goes in the Mile instead at Dubai. They nominated him to both.

Discreet Cat will make a mockery of Invasor going 10 furlongs on a track like Nad el Sheba

Oh no, I'm sorry. That's the wrong answer.

Personally I'll be somewhat surprised if Discreet Cat makes it into the starting gate for that race. If he does however, Invasor will make sure that he tastes his first defeat.

I can't promise you DC will make the starting gate.

However, something would have to be amiss for him to lose that race, even to a horse of Invasor's obvious quality.

It will be a Dubai Millennium kind of performance...and DM was more or a true miler than DC is.

How about neither one of them wins. Premium Tap heads over to Dubai and steals the race--ha ha. Then he would be DQed for some reason.

Premium Tap is another very capable horse.

However, If there is no quality speed hounding Discreet Cat early on, over a track like Nad al Sheba, what shot does anyone have?

invasor wasn't supposed to win the bcc either. no way it's a gimme for discreet cat.

We have previous form to go by. For whatever reason, Invasor didn't seem to run his race when they met last year. Why? Could be a number of reasons. Perhaps he doesn't really like that track? Going by what little evidence we have in hand, I'd take Discreet Cat to beat him again. Both horses have gotten better since then but I don't know if Invasor has improved enough to make up the difference.

Yeah--he was the 2nd choice in the betting---behind a younger, lightly raced horse who had never faced an iota of actual in-race adversity before, and who was certain to face it for the first time in the Classic.

Unlike the BC Classic, the Dubai World Cup probably isn't going to be a very fast paced race. Moreover, Discreet Cat is more suited to the style of that racetrack.

The betting public isn't stupid either---Discreet Cat will not only be the favorite if he's to run in that race--but I expect he'll be favored by a wider margin than most people think.

Third choice, actually. The superstar from Cali took more money as well.

You can't be serious.

Or do you mean Lava Man took more money than INvasor in the Classic?
I quoted your post about Invasor being the second choice in the BCC, as such, that is what I was referencing.

Sorry, it's my job -- I'd never said that in my life until a few months ago.

It actually kind of annoys even me.

Dude, you like NASCAR and are friends with people who participate in it, you are never allowed to call anyone a redneck.
