I have noticed the 7 and 1 hole winning a disturbing amount of sprints.

I'm going down to visit my daughter in Fort Lauderdale. She and her boyfriend are up for a trip to the track. But I remember reading a lot of negative comments about Gulfstream. They like Monmouth with the picnic area, etc. So will Gulfstream not be a good time? What are the best seats? Is it expensive (drinks, etc.)?

Yes, but I'm sure that would make me a heroine on this board.

if i was in the area MLC, i'd go. i mean, can you really have a bad time at the track?? it's not what it once was, a lot less emphasis i understand on live racing, and a lot more on the casino aspect. and i believe they did lower some of the pricing. go to their website and check them out...

I did check out the site, but didn't spend too much time on it to get a real picture of what's there. When you say not too much emphasis on live racing, what does that mean? Is it indoors?

from what i understand, there isn't a whole lot of space dedicated to watching the racing from outside...not much of an apron anymore. i'm sure someone who's been there could help you out more than me, i just know from different things i've read that there was a lot of criticism for how they re-did the place...
but like i said, i'd still go-whether i'd return after that visit i don't know! but i would definitely go.

One opinion
Quote:
If you go weekdays, the outdoor reserved seating is $3, and plenty of seats available, sat its $10/ sun. $7, and saturday is by far their busy day. There is a ticket booth on the left side of the building on the ground floor, (DON'T buy seats online as they tac on a $15 fee. ) Seats donot have enough leg room so you have to get up alot to let people pass. Row A,front row, has more leg room though. 10 Palms restaurant on 2nd floor has buffet for $30 weekends, a little less weekdays. Simulcasting , (after live racing ) is only available on ground floor clubhouse, north side. Any other questions, pm me. good luck |
