Rained all night. Hard. Just a drizzle now but more rain expected all day.

Expect Sloppy and Off.

So, they cancelled as the jockeys refused to ride, citing they didn't like the footing on the turn.

Correct me if I'm wrong but they used to race on sloppy tracks....no?

I was ontrack sunday and they had not sealed the track, even though the last race was on the turf. and the sky was filled with dark clouds. The rain started after the last race, so that may be the reason. As you know well, in NY, they seal the track at the hint of rain. May have been bad judgement by the track super, or simply too much rain, as weather had 1-2 inches of rain forcast.
