Default Tampa, 2-17

Due to what I believe to be a rotten card at Gulf, after much consternation, I've decided to take on Tampa today (mistake?, we'll see)

Race 1: 1 Passed Over, Knipe from the red hot Pecoraro, if he holds recent form, should be tough. 8 Psychic Star and 9 Say it isn't Sold, both dangerous.

Race 2: 1 Sea Doctor, 5 High on Madison, 8 Coogamonga and 9 Final Order, not necessarily in that order.

Race 3: 7 Little Bog, can improve off short rest bounce, 8 Bring Spring, 0-3-x pattern, can improve 2nd start at Tampa at a price, 10 Texas Gold Digger, dangerous

Race 4: Don't usually play firsters, but 4 Tale of a Monster is intriguing, 6 Classic Moon, shortens back up off paired 14's...7 Island ProspecterBob debuted with 15, Rhone improves them 2nd out... 12 Brickyard Road, gets Lasix off debut 17, dangerous.

Race 5: 5 Chromystic, should improve off turf bounce, 6 Superfly, obviously one to beat... 2 Cool the Heat, nice #'s in Canada, may need a start.

Race 6: 5 Zitlaly, 1st Waunsch, solid Hawthorne #'s last year, 3 Jenny Joy, and 10 Last Valentine.. seem to be the best in here.

Race 7: 3 Rock Cat, comes in well rested, gets weight.. 4 Floresta, 6 Shimmering Chrystal and 7 Bikini Atoll, all look solid.

Race 8: Love the line on the 1 SP Indy, solid dirt debut (9), followed by a 10 on the turf, now back to dirt...4 Miss Tizzynow is similar..5 My Golden Quest, Pletcher is obviously one to beat...8 Runaway Queen, well rested with 1 race at Tampa already..9 Autobahn Girl, very fast for Zito.. (I know, that's half the field)

Race 9: Another tough one, you can single the Pletcher horse 2 Cassydora, or play against with 6 Warrior Girl, 4 Cala Lily, 7 Bright Abundance... don't like 9 Sabelina today.

Race 10: 3 Any Given Saturday, will be tough to beat, use 5 All I Can Get, and 6 James Wilfred
underneath.

Race 11: 1 Summit Queen, 6 Billie Be Quick, 8 Aledo Magic and 10 Bobbies the Best... are the best
in here.

Race 12: Crazy finale with a bunch of formerly fast layoff horses...3 Shakesperean Story, 4 Stevebiscuit, 6 Birdies Best Boy, 7 Lite Brigade.. all can win, 8 Devil's Disciple is the biggest Question mark, off almost 2 years..

This may be a train wreck, but I certainly hope not, and as always, good luck to all.

Looking back on my picks, they were alot better than my results today, and my picks weren't particularly good. Tells you what type of day I had... Bigs, T3B, BT, I officially leave Tampa to you guys!

The 6 killed every tri I had from the 7th to the 10th...didn't matter what it went off at from 13 - 30 to 1 ..came in third

Rough day @ TBD.....Any Given Saturday got the job done, but certainly should have looked more impressive doing it for a derby hopeful....

just got home and checked results from there today....still trying to determine how the Chester House mare in the 6th, trying turf for only the 2nd time ever, was allowed to go off at 32-1...especially with my main man Vern up.

that horse has attempted N2X for some time now with no success, and has had little touch with any of the fields. Add that with a Sept. 06 layoff, no special works = 32-1. I couldn't bet him, especially when they had #3 dropping back from handicap company at GP, along with Sheppards horse on the outside, the Allen/Allen connection on the #1 (never know what those guys are gonna do).

All in all, it was a pretty low priced day. Nothing really eye-popping with the exception of the 6 ruining the start of my PK4, mainly chalks won from there on out.

oh yeah, i think it was the 9th race, they let Johnny V. on a 4-5 shot walk 24...50 fractions on the grass, funny and sad at the same time

BT, While watching the race at the half mile pole, I said the same thing, I played the 6 Warrior Girl, she made a huge move to get alongside the Pletcher horse, but had nothing left when they sprinted home (50 half, 114 three quarters)... needless to say, I only played her win and place! The superfecta with the 4 horses I liked the most came back $1000, but nothing for me.

As far as the Marge S is concerned, her poly #'s were OK, but nothing that made me give her a second look, unfortunately. The Tampa jockey colony drives me nuts!!!

Especially considering that she's out of a half sister to the dam of Kitten's Joy.
