Default 8/20: Saratoga (Day 20; Special; $178k C/O)

Second half of the meet opened with a rush Wednesday with $16.00 'Best Value' winner Afleet Alexandra and terrific tri ($235 for $2) in off the turf opener. Though DQ of Chippewa Court to Speechifying in the 2nd depressed Double payoff (From $90 to $64), P3 to Rodman in the third paid a handsome $124 and it looked like a big day was in the offing... And then came the 4th. Tidal Pool, board's longest shot from DWL in a 5 horse field, took away P4 chances and seemed to completely derail the afternoon for me.

Bright spot did come around later to a degree, as another of the overlaid win types that have boosted the bankroll arrived in the form of McPeek's House of Grace (15-1 ML; Exotics Use), who blew away the 7th at 23-1 ($48.80). Exacta box of the tabs returned $218 ($1) with Next Best Beautiful Song (7-1) 2nd. The net result, while there were plenty of winning tickets cashed, was another day of just the slightest profit, as failed P3, P4 and P6 tries gobbling up more than $450. Hope you did well in the spots where it was available...

Carryover goes double with $178,000 starting in the sextet coffers. Sequence features a goofy 4 maiden affairs and confusing Saratoga Special, and will be challenging.

I don't know about that one. Seems logical to me....1) second lifetime race 2) jock upgrade 3) does 4F in 47 for the only workout since debut.

Given what was going on with Arroyo about the time of the debut I would give the trainer the benefit of the doubt here...sire has been doing pretty well.

My comment was tongue in check and directed at the way she lead every call and appeared to never decelerate. The way she was running I thought for sure she would fold in deep stretch,

Default Saratoga Late PK 4

$1 Late PK 4
Trying a small ticket.

7th
4 Smooth Transition - Had excuse in debut; added distance can only help
1 Camptown Blues - Love the 3 straight turf works for the stretch out, including bullet 7F drill 2 weeks ago.
7 Most Happy Fella (SCR)

8th
2 - Cap the Thunder - Improved dramatically on Toga turf in last; keeps Ramon.

9th
8 - Tiny Woods - love the way the Roman Ruler 2-yos are running this year.
6 - D' Funnybone - Calder shippers always make me nervous, but first time Dutrow is always dangerous
1 - Thisskyhasnolimit - Obvious
3 - Zip Quik - Need to include the closer, with an expected hot pace. The french connection is reunited.

10th
8 - Beso Del Sur - The Linda Rice turf sprint angle, the hottest turf jock at Saratoga angle, the cut back angle. Can't leave out.
7 - Flying Sappho - Turf sprints last summer/fall put her right in the mix; 2nd off long layoff
9 - Sarah's Sally - Why not? Competitive in 3 straight grass sprints.

$24 for $1 - Good luck everyone!
